In Loving Memory of Richard John Hordos
November 29, 1955 – July 23, 2021
Celebration of Christian Burial for Richard’s Life
4:00pm on Tuesday July 27, 2021
Saint Mary’s Hungarian Parish Churchyard, Quinton, SK
Richard was born in Lestock, SK and from a young age his passion & heart was in the farm. Growing up Richard enjoyed socializing, playing cards, pitching for the Quinton Cardinals, and playing goal for the Hungarian Nationals hockey team. Richard met Lorraine through his sister Rhonda and husband Jim on a blind date. He won her heart over by telling her how to correctly use the heater on her car! They married on August 1, 1987. Together they raised their beautiful daughters on their family farm, south of Quinton.
Richard enjoyed spending his time with friends & family, especially the grandkids. He loved crop touring, checking his Hereford cattle and having a beer in his shop. His true passion was the dirt and the farm, and he loved everyone who stopped in for a beer and bullshit.
Richard passed away unexpectedly in the presence of his loving family, early Friday morning on July 23, 2021 at 65 years of age. He was predeceased by his father, Steve Hordos and brother-in-law Joe Lucheski. His memories will live on through his loving wife Lorraine, daughters Rena (Jordan) Leier, Lisa (Catlin) Sich, Kayla (Drew Hoehn). Grandchildren: Leah, Hope, Lacey, Hudson & Nash, mother: Victoria Hordos & sisters Rita (Frank) Sich, Rhonda (Jim) Millar, Lana (Brent) Breti & brother Steve (Fran) Hordos and all the extended family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in the open churchyard, so please bring your lawn chair & shade cover if you need it. Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Hungarian Parish Cemetery Fund, Heart & Stroke Foundation.
