It is with sadness that the family of Rosella Verlangen announce her passing on September 1, 2021, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. She was born on the family farm, on February 18, 1928, near Bruno, SK. She worked as a nurse’s aide, an anaesthetic technician, and sterilized medical instruments for about 20 years. She married Joe Verlangen in 1967 and quit work to become a full-time mom and homemaker in 1970. She loved to travel, play cards and BINGO and spend time with friends and family. She was an active member of the CWL and helped organize and prepare funeral lunches at Holy Spirit Parish for many years.
Rosella is survived by her son Corey Verlangen, daughter Anita Verlangen (Tom O’Hara) (granddaughters, Suraya and Neve), her sisters Sylvia Kennedy and Rita Whelan, her sister-in-law, Carol Hepp and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosella was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents Juliana and Anton Hepp; her sisters Eva Hepp, Sr. Laurentia Hepp, Mary Kraus, Julia Froess, Veronica Meszaros and Sr. Edwina Hepp; her brothers Frank, George, and Tony Hepp; her brothers-in-law John Kraus, Joe Froess, Jim Meszaros, Joe Whelan, and Albert Kennedy; her sisters-in law Sylvia Hepp and Pauline Hepp.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Pl.) in Saskatoon. The Rite of Committal will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 210 Wess Road directly following the Mass.
