PUHL-William Alexander

 

February 28th, 1927 to June 13th, 2020

 

It is with great sadness and grief that the family of William Puhl announces his passing. He was born February 28, 1927 in Cana Sask. to Kalman and Terezia (Yanko). William was the youngest of 7 children.

Dad was predeceased by his wife and our mother Eva, his parents, 1 sister, 5 brothers and their spouses as well as in-laws on both family sides.

Dad is survived by his children: Lorne (Loretta) Puhl, Noreen (Terry) Wright, Karen Fehr and Mervin (Carolyn) Puhl, his grandchildren: Rejean (Ailsa), Michelle, Shannon, Jason, Lisa , Amanda, Sarah (Alex), Mark and Kathryn. 3 great grandchildren: Anna, Isabelle and Ethan. His sister-in-laws Margaret, Hazel, Adele and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a teenager he met the love of his life, Eva Graff. They were married July 20th, 1948 in a double wedding ceremony with Eva's sister Frances who married dad's brother Albert. They lived in Melville where their 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls were born.

Dad was well-known as Bill. He was also a Journeyman Mechanic by trade and a musician. He moved his family to Saskatoon in 1965 for a job opportunity at Auto Clearing. He worked there until 1973 when he joined the Saskatoon Co-op as mechanic, Shop Foreman and Steward until his retirement in 1982.

Music was a huge part of his life. He played in bands starting at 10 years of age. Dad loved playing for weddings, parties, entertaining at Elk or Legion dances, Minus One, just to name a few. Bill and his music will be missed by many.

Dad, your family will miss you the most so very much. You can not be replaced.
